Fire Escape Inspections: In accordance with International Building Code Requirements, exterior fire escape stairs and balconies are required to be examined for structural adequacy and safety by a registered design professional every five years. Our professional engineers are able to perform comprehensive examinations and provide the necessary certification documents and, if necessary, remediation recommendations to enable certification.
Exterior building facades can fail for a number of reasons, including aging, deterioration, and even incorrect installation. TSE can perform a structural inspection of decorative façade features, overhang extensions, and chimneys and towers, and provide certification documents that may be required as part of International Property Maintenance Code Section 304.1 and local municipality requirements. When necessary, TSE can also design appropriate façade repairs to achieve the necessary façade certifications.
