A significant part of our firm’s business includes the design of foundations, mezzanines, and crane runway girders for pre-engineered metal buildings in the commercial/industrial market. TSE founder Dirk Taylor feels that we have an edge in this area of structural design, since he spent five years of his early engineering career with a pre-engineered metal building company, Ceco Buildings Division (now Ceco Building Systems) in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. During that time he prepared the structural designs for over 1,000 metal building projects. That experience gave him a thorough knowledge of pre-engineered metal buildings, including how to maximize their efficiency and how they differ from conventional building structures. Through the years Dirk has passed that knowledge on to our engineers, which allows us to provide foundation designs that are more compatible with pre-engineered metal building standards and more economical to build.
