DISTRICT 15

TSE was a member of the design team led by DLA + Architects for the new District 15 Office Building located in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. The building was developed by RDC Design + Build and partner Orangestar Properties as part of Buncher Company’s Riverfront Landing development along the Allegheny River.

The recently completed building is a four-story, 103,000-square-foot steel framed structure. A soil improvement system of impact piers was utilized to support the building’s foundations. The building features 18-foot clear heights at the first floor, a large 4th-floor balcony, a covered outdoor patio area, and expansive windows providing views of the Strip District and the 16th Street Bridge.

Design is underway for Facebook’s Oculus Group, which plans to occupy the entire building. TSE is pleased to be providing structural engineering services for the fit-out work in conjunction with Gensler. Building modifications for the tenant are anticipated to include the installation of a new 4-story feature stair, modifications to accommodate a future freight elevator, and enhancement of the building loading dock.
