STAFF NEWS
We are honored to announce that Dirk Taylor, who founded Taylor Structural Engineers in 1996 and has been successfully leading the company for 25 years, has made an important life decision. In order to spend more time with his family and at his lake home in Virginia, Dirk has decided to step down as President and relinquish his ownership in the company.
Although Dirk will no longer act as President of TSE, we feel very fortunate that Dirk is not retiring at this time, remaining on as an employee, advisor, and mentor. Dirk will be working on special projects that will allow him more personal flexibility. Dirk’s continued mentoring role will ensure a smooth transition for clients and staff members alike.
Dirk began his engineering career in 1981 as a Design Engineer at the American Bridge Division of US Steel after graduating from West Virginia University with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He continued to develop his career, working in the Pittsburgh area and North Carolina, before venturing out on his own in 1996. TSE was established with the main goal of providing the highest quality structural engineering services with creative, economical, and effective engineering design solutions. This dedication to this level of service has been passed on to every member of the TSE team, and the success of TSE is directly tied to Dirk’s leadership.
Dirk is grateful that he is able to make this decision while passing the management of the company into the capable hands of Pamela Holcomb as President, Brian Hermiller as Vice President/Secretary, and Philip Rittling as Treasurer. Pamm, Brian, and Phil are long-time Owners and Principals of TSE. Please join us as we wish Dirk our gratitude for his service to TSE, our clients, and to the Structural Engineering Community in Pittsburgh. We hope only the best for Dirk and his family as he enters this next phase of his career.
